Operating System Update - Android On Pi

O

Some exciting news I've just read is that the popular phone operating system; Android has been successfully ported to the Raspberry Pi.

A report on DIY Phone Gadgets (here) shows a video of it running.

Unfortunately it's not the most usable operating system for the Pi at the moment as it's so slow but developers are working on that trying to improve it with hardware acceleration.

Hopefully they'll get it working so we can all play some Angry Birds...

I'll keep you updated with the progress when it happens. But for now we'll have to wait...

While we're waiting you could view the current thread on the forum or try it yourself with the help of the Android Pi Wiki
