Welcome to My Raspberry Pi Blog

W

I've just ordered my Raspberry Pi computer and while I'm waiting for delivery I decided to set up a blog. I'll post here when I get chance and share my experience and ideas about using it.

For anyone who doesn't know a Raspberry Pi is a single board computer that is about the size of a credit card. It was developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation as a cheap computer to help increase teaching of computer programming in schools. It runs Linux which is booted off an SD card and has outputs for audio and video. It also has USB and a network port. It also has General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins that can be programmed to control input/output to external components such as switches, sensors, LEDs, motors etc.

Due to demand and limited initial production, the estimated delivery is about 8-10 weeks. So until then I'll just need to find a case and decide what flavour of Linux to install first.
